Terms of service
These are the terms for using SwipeSplit, a service built by Tiny Mammoth. By using SwipeSplit you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed, so they are short.
What SwipeSplit does
SwipeSplit reads a restaurant receipt, lets everyone at the table claim what they ate, and splits tax, tip, discounts, and shared dishes to the cent. It is a calculator and a shared list. It is not a bank, a payment processor, or an accountant.
Check the numbers
Receipt scanning is automatic and can misread a line, a quantity, or a total. Always check the numbers against the paper receipt before anyone pays. SwipeSplit is provided as is, and we are not responsible for a split that was based on a misread receipt or on items people claimed incorrectly.
Paying each other
Pay-back links open Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or Apple Cash. Those payments happen entirely inside those apps, under their terms. SwipeSplit never holds, moves, or refunds money, and any dispute about a payment is between you and the person you paid.
Accounts
Accounts are optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may remove accounts or tables that are used to abuse the service or other people.
Acceptable use
Use SwipeSplit for splitting bills with people you are actually sharing a table with. Do not use it to harass anyone, to upload content you have no right to, to probe or overload the service, or to break the law.
Availability and changes
SwipeSplit is a young product. We may change, pause, or retire features, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. Tables are deleted after 24 hours by design, so do not rely on SwipeSplit to keep records.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Tiny Mammoth is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of SwipeSplit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the previous twelve months, which today is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
